Activities For Total Knee Replacement Patients

December 13th, 2007 | by admin |

Here are some activities you can do after having a total knee replacement.  Patients are encouraged to walk as often as possible.  30 to 40 minutes per day for at least four days per week is recommended.  A bicycle, treadmill, even a stair stepping device are all good activities to perform.  You can return to such leisure sports as golfing and swimming as well.  Swimming is an ideal exercise since it provides muscle strength and endurance without exerting pressure or stress to the replacement knee.
