Alternative therapies to relieve back pain

While prescription pain relief pills may in fact dull the pain to a manageable degree, they do not treat the root cause of the problem. The back is under a constant strain throughout our lives and while it is very strong, spinal injury is one of the most common conditions around the world and even sitting incorrectly can create a long term problem.
Of course the most common way to injure your spine is by lifting heavy weights or lifting them incorrectly. There are a number of natural back pain relief methods that mean you will not have to rely on drugs. Stretching the back is often the simplest method of relief, stretching your back gently can relax your back muscles preventing them from becoming tense.
Some are finding relief using reflexology, an ancient type of alternative medical treatment. Relaxing muscles and increasing the effectiveness of the circulatory system are two other reasons to use reflexology.
Acupuncture is used frequently by people suffering spinal agony by giving them back pain relief just as it has for thousands of years, although, only recently in the West. The use of needles in Traditional Chinese medicine could be over 5,000 years old.
While acupuncture is used for many conditions, it is frequently used for pain relief and many people claim to have excellent results from using it.
A slower and gentler type of Yoga called Tai Chi, once again from China, is another method of back pain control. It is so easy to learn by the young and old alike. By exercising regularly there is less chance of a back pain attack.
