Certification Issues

July 17th, 2008 | by admin |

For those of you out there that want to become expanded function dental assistant, let me just share with you some of my experience. I have now been successfully working as a dental assistant for two years, but it wasn't so easy at the beginning. To be legally allowed to practice this profession, you must become certified. The certification document serves as a proof that you have gained the required skills and knowledge to work efficiently in any dental team. Most dental assistants who choose to become nationally certified take the Dental Assisting National Board's (DANB) Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) examination. Dental assistants are eligible to take the CDA examination if they have completed a dental assisting program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
