What Cauese A Paronychia Nail Infection

December 3rd, 2007 | by admin |

Paronychia is an infection of nail which will generally affect the area just under the nail. It can be a bacteria infection or in some cases be caused by a yeast infection. Since yeast will really thrive in a warm moist area the nail bed is an ideal place for this type of infection. But what is most imporant about this type of infection is whether it is of the acute or chronic variety. Acute is more of the bacterial variety and can be treated with antibiotics. Chronic is more of a fungal infection and can take up to a year to clear up with anti-fungal medications.
