What Is Prostate Cancer?

October 6th, 2008 | by admin |

Men who get cancer of the prostate have been diagnosed with a type of cancer which forms in the prostate tissues. The prostate is a gland which is found below the bladder and front of the rectum in a man’s reproductive system. Prostate cancer is most common in men over 60 years old. It is estimated that nearly 200,000 men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer this year. More than 15 percent will die from prostate cancer. These deaths occur more frequently in men who are older and have a more aggressive form of prostate cancer in the latter stages.
