Who is Affected by Bone Cancer?

Cancer of the bone comes in three primary forms, Osteosarcoma, Chondrosarcoma and Ewing’s Sarcoma. Bone cancer and related tumors generally strike people when they are in their early childhood (around the age of ten years old) to about the age of twenty years old. Males are more likely to be affected with cancer of the bone than females and Caucasians are usually the only ethnicity that cancer of the bone affects rarely Asians or Africa-Americans. The tumor is normally removed from the affected area if it has not metastasized. Chemotherapy and Radiation therapy are the most common forms of treatment for any type of bone cancer and related tumors. Cancer is graded on several different stages from 1-4, stage 1 being the best case scenario, stage 4 being the worst.
