The diet south beach or the South Beach Diet as it is more properly known, is a diet developed in Miami, Florida around Miami’s South Beach area by cardiologist Dr. Agatston. This diet is distinguished from other traditional diets by not having any emphasis at all on calorie intake. Instead, emphasis on the types of food eaten is given. Generally, one is to avoid “bad fat” and “bad carbohydrates” while taking in as much “good fat” and “good carbohydrates” as on could manage. The results of going on this kind of diet have been shown to be very effective in some scientific studies.
