How A Detox Program Works

November 20th, 2007 | by admin |

A detox diet attempts to not only reduce your exposure to these toxins, but to help flush out the toxins that might be stored in the body.

“Flush out” is a good way to describe it. Most detox programs involve a very large intake of water. There may be fresh fruit, juices and vegetables, as well. Some programs, like Master Cleanse, suggest the use of laxatives as well.

Master Cleanse, written by Stanley Burroughs, has gotten a new lease on life but it’s actually been around since the 1970s when it was known as the Lemonade Diet. There are other detox programs out there, as well.
