Some People Gain Weight When They Quit Smoking

People often wonder if they will gain weight when they quit smoking.  Truth is that some people do gain a little weight.  On the other hand, some lose weight.  The main reason that people do gain weight during this time is that they use the food to fill the void of not having the cigarettes.  Just make sure to watch what you eat and limit how much you eat.  Exercise can decrease the possibility of gaining weight.

When some people are smoking their metabolism is increased by 7% for some.  Nicotine is said to act as an appetite suppressant for some smokers so when they quit smoking they gain weight.
