February 21st, 2008 | by admin |

Diabetes, more properly known as  diabetes mellitus  is a serious chronic disease wherein the body is unable to metabolize insulin properly or is unable to produce the right amount of insulin for some reason. Reasons may include genetics and lifestyle. This could lead to dangerously high blood sugar levels and consequently, some very bad complications related to the same. These complications may include blurred vision or blindness, bad circulation, nerve damage, cardiovascular disease, slow healing of wounds (often leading to gangrene) , and a whole host of other unpleasant and potentially deadly effects.
